The process of therapy can include helping you to understand what is happening, teaching you how to identify and manage triggers, and assisting you to learn the skills you need to cope with, and respond to, the situation more effectively.
Therapy also helps you clarify what you might want to do about a situation. Sometimes people do not want to or cannot change a situation, but they would find benefit in learning to accept and adapt to it.
The outcome of therapy can be a regained a sense of control, wellbeing, happiness and stability, allowing you to more successfully manage your life and reach your potential.
The most effective therapy for most issues is time-limited, focuses on outcomes determined by the client and the therapist in a collaborative approach, uses methods that have been shown to work and takes place in a safe and respectful therapeutic relationship with a competent and skilled professional.
