BMD's psychological services centre around provision of respectful, collaborative therapy for individuals and adults. Our aim is provide our clients with toolkits for life, and we take a fairly directive approach in our therapy, with a big focus on strategies and skills.

BMD's organisational consulting services draw on our extensive senior level management experience in the public sector, particularly in the area of complex clinical service delivery, and at an award winning youth focused social enterprise.
Brenda Dolieslager is the firm's founder and managing director. She has been a registered clinical psychologist for over 20 years and has a wide range of general clinical and specialised experience, both clinically and in senior corporate and non for profit roles.
She is a warm, friendly collaborative therapist, with a pro-active, skills focused approach in her work with clients. Brenda tailors her treatment approach to each client, and uses only evidence based therapeutic frameworks in her work. She works with adults and older adolescents (17+) and with most clinical and psychological presentations in her private practice (ranging from mental health problems and disorders such as depression and anxiety, trauma and other presentations, to life transitions, grief and loss, and career focused support).

Kathryn is a registered psychologist who values a person-centred approach. Her natural warmth, empathy and compassion, create a space of safety and understanding for her clients. She is passionate about helping people create lives in which they can flourish. Kathryn has knowledge and experience in various evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing and Positive Psychology. She has been practicing as a psychologist for over a decade in public, not-for-profit and private settings.
Kathryn is passionate about working with individuals, families and careers of those with an eating disorder. She is experienced in seeing clients with Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED) and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED). Kathryn brings a wealth of experience in using evidence-based approaches for eating disorders, such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy- Enhanced (CBT-E), Family Based Treatment (Maudsley Method) (FBT), Motivational Interviewing, Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) and Schema Therapy. She understands and values the importance of family/carer involvement in treatment and can provide individual support for those whose loved one is suffering from an eating disorder.
Katherine is a remotely based psychologist and she offers telehealth sessions to BMD clients (she does not offer face to face appointments).
Helen Johns is our fabulous practice manager at BMD. She takes care of all the administrative stuff for us and you will most likely deal with her for your initial booking, your intake process, and for any subsequent scheduling, cancellations or other admin issues.
